Why Juice your vegetables?

There are a few reasons why drinking vegetable juice is more beneficial for your you  than simply eating your veggies.

1. It’s easier to get a good variety of vegetables in your diet if you juice. We are all  creatures of habit, we drive to work the same way we, we sleep on the same side of the bed and we tend to eat the same things on a fairly regular basis. If you get in the habit of drinking fresh vegetable juice every day then it’s simple to switch out the ingredients. You don’t have to worry about how the new vegetable you are trying should be prepared or if you will like it just add it to your morning juice and you get all the benefits of a varied diet.

2. You will consume a lot more vegetables if you juice them. Let’s face it for most of us veggies are not our favorite food. As a result very few of us get even close to the recommended daily allowance. By juicing your greens it becomes much easier to get the correct amount of veggies in your diet.

3. Many people who eat the Standard American Diet or “SAD” have impaired digestion which makes it difficult to absorb all the nutrients from the food they eat. When you juice your vegetables the juicer extracts all the nutrients from the pulp for you making it much easier for your body to absorb.

Its important to get a good juicer when you’re just getting started so that you don’t get discouraged. Cheep juicers are loud, difficult to clean and often break. A good juicer like the Omega 8005 is an investment that will serve you well for years to come.

pH and Juicing

There are a lots of thing that contribute to you having good health. Many of them are obvious. Things like getting regular exercise, eating a healthy balanced diet, getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water are all things that most of us are aware of. But there is something else that is critically important to good health, that most people are completely unaware of. Your bodies pH level. Your body requires a pH level of between 7.35 and 7.45. The foods we eat have a dramatic impact on your pH. Processed foods, foods high in sugar, alcohol and meats all lower your bodies pH causing your system to become more acidic. Fresh vegetables and salad have a powerful alkalizing effect on your system. The challenge for many of us is that we eat way to many of the acid producing foods and not enough of the alkalizing ones. And our bodies are paying the price antacids are the second best selling type of drug in the world. Fortunately there’s an easy solution, eat more greens!  A great way to easily get more veggies in your diet is to own a vegetable juicer and get in the habit of juicing.

Omega Juicers Now Avaliable

Omega manufactures Citrus Juicers which are primarily designed for juicing grapefruits, oranges, limes and lemons. They also manufacture standard centrifugal juicers which can be used for juicing fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. For those in the market for a good masticating juicer the Omega 8005 is one of the best ones out there although I have to confess that I am a little bit biased as the Omega 8005 is the juicer that I personally own. There are a few things i really like about the 8005. For one it’s supper easy to clean I actually timed myself, and it takes just under one minute thirty seconds to break completely down, clean and put back together. Another think I love about this juicer is how efficient it is. The pulp that is left over after juicing has very little moisture left in it. Finally I really like masticating style juicers in general because they don’t heat up and therefore cause minimal damage to whatever you happen to be juicing.

Alkalizing Green Drink Recipe

 Many people have already discovered the powerful cleansing and healing effects of juicing. Juicing fresh organic greens and vegetables is especially good for us. Often time’s people are hesitant to try vegetable juice thinking it will taste bad. However this is far from being true, there are dozens of wonderful tasting vegetable juice recipes. In fact it is quite common for people to develop a taste for one or two favorite recipes and actually crave them very similar to coffee cravings, the energy boost one gets from drinking vegetable juice is also very similar to what one gets from drinking coffee but without the negative side effects. Green Power:

1/2 Organic cucumber with the skin still on it.

3 stalks of organic celery

1 half cup (or good sized fist full) of organic spinach.

This recipe makes about one serving, about 8 ounces. Try to drink it within 15min of juicing.

Raw Juicers, Juicing Blog Welcome!

 Welcome every! The purpose of this blog is to share information on all the health benefits of juicing. I have been juicing for nearly 10 years now. Ever since I made juicing a regular part of my life I’ve seen an enormous improvement in my health and over all energy level. My hope is that this blog will be a lot of fun and that it will inspire other to take up juicing.

I will also be posting some great juicing recipes here over the next few months so be sure to stop back often. Please don’t hesitate to post any thoughts, experiences or stories you may have in regards to juicing.
